Earlier this month (on the 11th), Pete planted peas, sugarsnaps and mangetout in the back garden.
- Our peas are Hurst Greenshaft.
- Our sugarsnaps are Sugar Anne.
- Our mangetout are a yellow variety called Golden Sweet.
Previously, we’ve foraged for wild garlic but last year, my friend Daisy kindly gave us some wild garlic plants, uprooted from the patch in his back garden.
The plants have settled in well and have been flowering since the beginning of April.
On the 11th, we enjoyed some of the raw flowers and stems in a simple mixed leaf salad with vinaigrette dressing.
